Seit gestern bin ich nun wieder in Kathmandu. Und schon sehne ich mich wieder in die Berge. :) Kathmandu ist Kathmandu, laut, schmutzig, voll mit Menschen, verrückt, belebt und doch hat es etwas spezielles. Aber eben als Bergkind fühlt man sich in der Stadt nicht ganz so wohl.
Es war schön ein paar Tage abzuschalten, und jetzt bin ich bereits wieder im Swiss Hope Sherpa Modus. Heute war das Treffen mit den Ingenieuren. Sie haben uns eine gute Erklärung des Projektes geliefert. Jeder nur kleine Schritt und Abschnitt konnten sie in einfachen Worten erklären. Wenn man sich in der Nichtmuttersprache unterhält ist es wichtig relativ einfache Wörter zu benutzen. Die Fachsprache würde ich nicht verstehen. Auch mit der Auflistung der Finanzierung sind wir zufrieden. Obschon der Betrag etwas höher ist als erwartet. Nun sobald ich das PDF von den Ingenieuren erhalte, werde ich es nochmals extern prüfen lassen ob alles in Ordnung ist. Erst dann kann ich einen sauberen Spendenaufruf machen. Es wird unser bislang grösstes Projekt werden.
Dann habe ich euch noch eine Überraschung versprochen. :) All jene die uns seit Anfang an kennen, kennen den Rickshaw-Fahrer Samu. Dank einem Sponsor, dürfen wir für Samu ein neues Rickshaw besorgen. :) Diese Fahrräder werden in Indien hergestellt. Wir sind dabei eines zu bestellen. Aber durch die aktuelle Covid-Situation, wird es wohl noch ein wenig dauern....
Am 30. November fliege ich in die Schweiz zurück. Einerseits freue ich mich nach Hause zu fliegen. Aber wenn ich die aktuellen News betrachte, würde ich lieber hier bleiben. Ich fliege spät abends, sodass ich am Morgen noch den PCR-Test machen kann. Doch vorher möchten sich alle noch von mir verabschieden. :) Ich freue mich alle noch einmal zu sehen. Auch wenn es stressig werden wird.
Na dann, bis bald in Bergün. Entweder findet ihr mich am Bahnschalter der RhB, oder im Weissen Kreuz. Ich freue mich auf ein Wiedersehen.

I have been back in Kathmandu since yesterday. And I am already longing for the mountains again. :) Kathmandu is Kathmandu, loud, dirty, full of people, crazy, busy and yet it has something
special. But just as a mountain kid, you don't feel quite as comfortable in the city.
It was nice to switch off for a few days, and now I'm already back in Swiss Hope Sherpa mode. Today was the meeting with the engineers. They gave us a good explanation of the project. Every just
small step and section they were able to explain in simple words. When talking in the non-native language it is important to use relatively simple words. I would not understand the technical
language. We are also satisfied with the listing of the financing. Although the amount is a bit higher than expected. Now, as soon as I receive the PDF from the engineers, I will have it checked
again externally to make sure everything is in order. Only then can I make a clean appeal for donations. It will be our biggest project so far.
Then I promised you a surprise. :) All those who have known us since the beginning, know the Rickshaw driver Samu. Thanks to a sponsor, we are allowed to get a new Rickshaw for Samu. :) These
bikes are made in India. We are in the process of ordering one. But due to the current Covid situation, it will probably take some time....
I fly back to Switzerland on 30 November. On the one hand, I am happy to fly home. But when I look at the current news, I would rather stay here. I'm flying late in the evening so that I can
still do the PCR test in the morning. But before that, everyone wants to say goodbye to me. :) I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again. Even though it will be stressful.
